You have decided to get a swimming pool and are now ready for your pool installation. Before your pool installation, there are a few things you should know to be well prepared. Three things you should know before your pool installation are:
1. Timeline – Pool installation is a process. It takes time to install one and therefore we recommend knowing before the installation starts what the timeline is for the pool installation. Knowing ahead of time and any changes to the timeline along the way will help you feel more comfortable and at ease about your pool installation.
2. Extra Costs – There is the cost of the pool and pool installation and then there will likely be additional costs that you should be prepared for. Be sure to ask if these items are a part of your bid. Some of these extra costs are:
- Dirt hauling
- Fence for around your pool
- Landscaping
- Electrical work
3. The Process – It is important to understand the basic process of installing an inground swimming pool. Understanding the process will help you know how far along in the process you are and what to expect next. The basic process is:
- Permits will likely be needed before construction can begin. A reputable pool company will know exactly which permits to get to keep the project on time.
- The ground will need to be prepped before the pool can be installed. The amount of prep work will depend on the pool type and the condition of the land. Usually, excavation is needed to properly prep the land for your swimming pool.
- The framing of your pool and the plumbing will be installed next.
- Any concrete needed will be poured. The concrete will be allowed to dry and cure before anything else will happen.
- The filtration equipment and pumps will be installed.
- This is usually when the patio, fencing, and landscaping can start.
- After the plaster is installed, the pool can be filled, and chemicals can be added.
- A final inspection will be done to ensure that everything is working properly.
